The match ratings for Milan, provided by the colleagues at Tuttosport, are mostly very positive: the result of a second half from the Rossoneri full of grit and determination that, in fact, decided the match and secured the three points for the 'Diavolo'. The two players awarded as the best by the Piedmont-based newspaper are Youssouf Fofana, named MVP by Serie A, and Luka Modric: both earned a 7 rating. This is the verdict for the Frenchman:
"Finally he does what Allegri has been asking of him since the start of the year: a goal."
And this is the one for the Croatian: "He distributes passes to his teammates that seem tailor-made, and sets up Pulisic for the 2–1: a master."
Also doing well are the other two goal scorers of the day, Pavlović and Rabiot, who both receive a 6.5. For the Serbian, it is written: “His goal looks a bit like something from a funfair, but credit to him for trying. The naïveté on the penalty costs him half a point in the rating.” For the Frenchman: “On the action leading to the 1–1, he should be the one marking Vlasic, but, after protesting for an alleged foul against him, he gets back into defense at the pace of a tourist walking to the beach in flip-flops. He redeems himself handsomely by scoring the second goal.” The same rating also goes to Athekame and Ricci, who came on well. Allegri also gets a 6.5: "After the usual first half played at a slow pace, he sorts things out by changing the system, showing that few can read matches as he does in real time." The players who failed are Fullkrug (4.5) and Tomori (5.5).
