The well-known Italian journalist Luca Bianchin expressed himself in La Gazzetta dello Sport about Rafael Leao’s future as follows:
"Right away, the big name. Milan has stopped considering Leao untouchable (but really, has he ever been?) and, as always, his future will depend heavily on the transfer market. Years ago, Chelsea contacted Milan with an offer, in a negotiation that never took off. Those were different times. Today, for 80 million, Leao would leave without asking anything further. It is not excluded that it could happen anyway, perhaps for a lower amount."
Bianchin continued to discuss Rafael Leao's situation:
"The coming weeks will be important because the talks for renewing his contract have only been preliminary. The relationship between Milan and Leao will not collapse, Rafa is not that type, and the World Cup will give him an international dimension (and, inevitably, a price). What that price will be, no one can know right now."
