Transfer battle for Vlahović: Juventus renewal stall opens door for Milan move

The future of Dušan Vlahović has become a transfer market puzzle between Juventus and Milan, with the Bianconeri club having decided to postpone any talks over a contract renewal until the end of the season, as confirmed by CEO Damien Comolli.

Despite the appreciation of coach Luciano Spalletti, negotiations to extend the contract, which expires in June, have stalled due to the Serbian striker’s repeated injury problems, the latest being the injury during the warm-up against Genoa, following his adductor surgery in December, as pointed out by those at La Gazzetta dello Sport in this morning's edition.

Juventus are aiming for a short renewal of one or two years with a significantly reduced salary compared to his current €12 million, dropping to a figure below the €7.5 million he initially earned and even under the €7 million guaranteed to Yildiz, hoping that the player’s desire to relaunch his career will outweigh the commissions linked to a “free agent” move.

In this context, Milan have stepped in strongly. There, Allegri would gladly reunite with the striker with whom he enjoyed his most prolific season, offering him the central leadership role in attack and a long-term contract until 2030 to fill a gap that has existed since the days of Ibrahimović.

To finance the deal and free up wage space, the Rossoneri would look to the sale of Christopher Nkunku, who was signed for over €40 million from Chelsea but has had a disappointing season with just six goals. His departure would allow Milan to launch a decisive move for the Serbian number 9.
