In this first year at Milan, Ardon Jashari has not had the best season of his career. An injury stopped him straight away at the beginning of the season, keeping him out for a full two months. After that, Modrić’s excellent physical condition also prevented him from being selected more regularly, given that the Swiss player was supposed to be his backup.
What an opportunity for Jashari
Now, with Modrić’s cheekbone injury and his season consequently over, Jashari has four matches ahead of him to regain Allegri’s trust. It is not easy; this year among the new arrivals only Rabiot has performed well, while De Winter and Athekame can be said to have done fairly well. Tuttosport explains that the former Brugge player now has 34 million reasons to perform at his best in the absence of the former Ballon d’Or winner.
Evidently, the time is ripe and the moment has come to step up and show what he is truly capable of. The period of adaptation was certainly necessary; changing league and tactics is never simple in any way, and two months of work in that regard had already been lost due to the injury. Milan have invested heavily in him, but it is not enough simply to spend money: proper technical development is also required.
It must also be said that he has played very little; his playing time has been extremely limited, and perhaps he should have been given a bit more time on the pitch. But with the way Max views football, it is not easy to give chances to others, especially when you have a master in midfield. Now, however, all that remains is to push on towards achieving the objective, with or without Modrić.
