Andrea Ramazzotti, a journalist, expressed the following on 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' regarding the future of Massimiliano Allegri:
"First year of settling in, with the aim of bringing the Diavolo back into the Champions League and ‘contained’ investment due to the lack of income from UEFA; second and third seasons more ambitious, let’s say with an open hunt for the second star, also thanks to greater financial resources guaranteed by participation in the Champions League. Allegri has therefore focused on the vision of a Diavolo that wins again and has ‘committed himself’ to turning this project into reality. Now he is one step away from the first milestone, a return to Europe’s top competition. That step must be taken on Sunday evening, then many things will probably be sorted out through discussions with the ownership and the management."
"Allegri expects the Rossoneri squad to be strengthened and expanded, with the arrival of players with international experience and a winning mentality. Cardinale will do everything possible to satisfy him: he cares about ensuring that AC Milan remains sustainable, but at the same time he does not want to lose the coach who has brought the team back to competitiveness. In the transfer market, therefore, he will instruct his people (whoever they may be) to listen to Max’s input, while remaining firm on the fact that he cannot invest in a way that creates losses without return. A striker with goals in his DNA is the shared priority (at the top of Max’s list are Gonçalo Ramos and Dušan Vlahović), but all departments need strengthening. Finding another coach like Allegri is not easy, and Cardinale knows this: compared with last year, the atmosphere at Milanello has changed and the results reflect that. The fact that the football is not spectacular is not a crucial factor: for the American, results are what matter, and Max is delivering them.”
