There is already room for the Rossoneri’s summer transfer market plans: Massimiliano Allegri could stay on, especially if they qualify for the Champions League (they need three points against Cagliari Calcio), which could trigger a contract extension until 2028 worth €6 million per year. One of the ex Juventus coach’s main requests remains a physically strong centre-forward for his 3-5-2 system.
According to Tuttosport, Gianluca Scamacca is being monitored by AC Milan: the striker could leave Atalanta BC during the summer transfer window because his contract expires in 2027 and there are currently no talks underway regarding a renewal. Among the Rossoneri’s attacking ideas is also the Italian striker born in 1999.
The costs could help facilitate this transfer move: Scamacca could cost around €30 million (Atalanta’s initial valuation), a significant but still manageable fee for Italian clubs, including Milan. A similar argument applies to wages, since Scamacca currently earns €3 million per season, a figure compatible with Milan’s salary structure (in attack, Rafael Leao earns €5 million plus bonuses). Finally, there is also the squad registration issue: the striker would occupy one of the slots reserved for Italian players in the squad lists, something Milan should not underestimate.
Scamacca has made 23 Serie A appearances this season, scoring 10 goals. To these are added 3 goals in 10 Champions League appearances. Scamacca is an experienced Serie A profile: 118 appearances with 46 goals. He has started 16 league matches, playing 1,310 minutes: his xG (expected goals) stands at 6.73, with a scoring frequency of one goal every 131 minutes. All of his goals were scored inside the opposition penalty area (data from Sofascore).
From a technical standpoint, Scamacca is the physical centre-forward that Allegri’s 3-5-2 has lacked this season: the Italian striker is extremely strong in the air, possesses a powerful shot, can hold up the ball well with his back to goal, and is also highly skilled technically. Ideally, he would be perfect alongside another striker to fully complete the attacking department.
