Luka Modrić, who will return as a starter tomorrow evening in midfield against Cagliari, has no doubts that for the future of the Rossoneri dugout, Milan should continue to rely on Massimiliano Allegri: "He is a great coach, he has achieved great results with Milan and Juventus, he has returned to the Rossoneri and is doing an exceptional job. He prepares matches well, he has personality, I am happy to work with him," said the Croatian to SportMediaset.
As reported this morning by Corriere della Sera, the impression is that with Allegri staying, Modrić’s spell at Milan could also continue for another season: "What I can say is that I am very happy in Milan, but the most important thing now is the match against Cagliari and Champions League qualification. For the rest, we will see, I have a good relationship with the club, with the management, and with the coach. When I chose Milan it was to help and try to win; this year it did not happen, but it is clear that I would like to win a trophy with Milan."
It should be remembered that Modrić’s contract with Milan expires on 30 June next year: the Rossoneri club has an option to extend it for another year, but before doing so it is waiting for the green light from the former Real Madrid player, who has been considering his future for weeks. On 9 September, the Croatian will turn 41.
