The love story between Milan and Christian Pulisic seemed to be going very smoothly, especially during the first part of the season, at least up to 28 December, the day of his last goals in the Rossoneri shirt, when he had been the best player in the whole of Serie A. Yet something has broken down: whether due to Pulisic’s personal issues off the pitch, the approaching World Cup at home with the pressure of being considered the team’s top player, or also because the contract renewal talks have collapsed. Today, the owner Gerry Cardinale wants to ensure that Pulisic stays.
The situation regarding Christian Pulisic is clear: the American’s contract expires in 2027, but Milan can exercise an option for an additional year. The US international earns around 4 million per season but had stated, during renewal talks with the club, that he did not want to continue his spell at Milan, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.
In fact, the same newspaper mentioned above also reports today, after an objectively poor second half of the season, Cardinale’s intention to win Pulisic back and make him the symbol of his new Milan. Contact with the player will need to be resumed, who, according to reports, had even requested a renewal worth 8 million, double his current salary.
