Throughout almost the entire second half of the season, Leon Goretzka has been discussed as a possible first signing for AC Milan ahead of next season. The German midfielder said goodbye to Bayern Munich with a league title and a cup victory, leaving Bavaria at the natural end of his contract and emerging as one of the most attractive free agents of the summer.
Behind him, driven by Max Allegri, who highly rates him, AC Milan pushed strongly and, with the backing of former sporting director Igli Tare, had already set up and virtually completed the deal.
Goretzka, goodbye Milan: he offers himself to Juventus:
As reported in recent hours, Leon Goretzka had reached an agreement with AC Milan and was simply waiting for the end of the season to sign. Since then, however, everything has changed: Milan missed out on Champions League qualification and, above all, Gerry Cardinale dismissed everyone, including Allegri and Tare, who had been working to bring the German to the Rossoneri.
Goretzka has had no contact with Milan for around two weeks and, with the World Cup approaching, has decided to move differently rather than keep waiting. According to Tuttosport, Leon Goretzka has now offered himself to Juventus through his agents. Luciano Spalletti appreciates him, but he would prioritise other targets first, such as Stanislav Lobotka.
