After the disappointing season with Milan, which ended with zero league goals, Santiago Gimenez had hoped to make amends with his Mexico side at the World Cup, but things did not go as he had hoped in this case either: not a single start, no goals scored and no assists.
The only thing to note was the ankle injury he picked up towards the end of the match lost against England, which will keep him out for at least a month and a half.
This is reported this morning by Corriere della Sera, which adds that this setback is not a positive development for Milan, who are trying to sell him and generate as much money as possible from his departure. Regarding his possible exit, in recent weeks Orlando City and Porto had made enquiries about Gimenez, but they then disappeared.
