Strahinja Pavlovic, speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport during Milan’s training camp in Perth, commented on Luka Modric’s decision to remain with the Rossoneri:
"It’s incredible to know that he will stay with us for at least another season. Maybe even longer, we’ll see... Luka is an extraordinary person. When you have a champion like him by your side, you can learn so much: he is much older than me, but when we are together, it feels like we are the same age. We can talk about anything because he is truly a great man."
Pavlovic added:
"If there is something specific I have learned from him? First of all, the way he approaches football. He is an exceptional professional, and I get the feeling that every minute he spends at Milanello has a precise purpose: from his pre-training routine to the way he takes care of his body. He is 41 years old and you never see him tired on the pitch, nor does he ever give the impression that he doesn’t want to do something: he is always the first one to run, and he does it with a big smile on his face. For me, it is incredible to see that he still has this much passion for football.
Where do I see myself at his age? I don’t know. I hope I can be like him."

"We have signed two excellent players. I can speak especially about Gila because he is a defender, and last year we faced Lazio a few times. For me, he was always the best player on the pitch. He has so many qualities and can help us a lot, especially because of what he can do with the ball. He is also a very aggressive player, so I think he is perfect for Milan."
On Rafael Leao:
"I let him rest and we haven't spoken much. We will have time to do that. Do I hope Rafa stays at Milan? He is an extraordinary player, and I would like him to remain here with us."
