“Amorim pushing. Milan need two more players” is the headline in this morning’s Quotidiano Sportivo, which explains that Ruben Amorim is primarily focused on tomorrow’s league opener against Torino, but yesterday, during owner Gerry Cardinale’s visit to Milanello, he reiterated the need to add another defender and an attacking midfielder to the squad.
Before making any new signings, however, the club on Via Aldo Rossi must move on players who are surplus to requirements, such as Fikayo Tomori, Youssouf Fofana, Christopher Nkunku and Santiago Gimenez, who has not even been assigned a shirt number.
There is also the ongoing Rafael Leao dilemma to resolve, with the Portuguese winger also available for transfer. Leao has been given the No. 10 shirt, but he remains on the market while Milan wait for a club to put forward the €50–60 million the Rossoneri want to receive from his sale.
