Ruben Amorim spoke to TeleLombardia after Torino-Milan ended 1-2. Here is what he had to say:
What are your feelings?
“It was important because it was the first match and our first experience with the fans, and I think we did well. But only until the 75th minute; after that, it became a completely different game. It was also important to create the right atmosphere ahead of our return to San Siro. It was important to win, take the three points and arrive at San Siro with a good atmosphere. I’m really happy.”
All Milan fans love Cissé today. Are you a little jealous?
“No (laughs). I’m really happy. I’ve heard that the whole club believed in Cissé, but it’s important to explain to our young players that it’s just one game. It’s just one goal. Football, like life, is really tough. It was a great evening for Cissé, but the most important thing is the next game, and we have to be ready because this is already in the past.”
Will we see Leão with Milan again?
“I don’t know if Leão will be with the team for the next game because I don’t know if he’ll be able to recover in time. If he can be there, then he’ll be very important because every player in the squad is very important. That is, when he is ready to play. If he isn’t ready to play, then he’s not that important (laughs). So I don’t know if he’ll be important, but if he can help us, even better. But I’ll repeat: today, it’s not just about Cissé. Saelemaekers also showed great passion when he came on. Moreira was also on the bench. Leão will be important when he recovers, but I don’t know if he’ll be there for the next game.”
