While it is difficult to expect any new arrivals for Milan between now and 8pm, when the summer transfer window closes, what is certainly expected are the departures of the remaining players deemed surplus to requirements.
In this regard, as has been pointed out for some time, the management probably acted a little too late and now finds itself needing to offload at least three players, writes Milan News: midfielders Youssouf Fofana and Warren Bondo, and defender Fikayo Tomori.
This morning, Tuttosport took stock of Milan’s outgoing transfer situation on the final day of the transfer window. The Turin-based newspaper ran the headline:
"Fofana-Lyon nearing completion, Bondo heading towards Monaco."
Despite some complications between Milan and Lyon, reported by Di Marzio yesterday evening, the clubs will try to get the deal over the line today in time for the deadline. As for Bondo, Sassuolo are an option, but the player is pushing for a return to his home league. Surprisingly, Tomori could remain, as there are currently no concrete offers for him.
