Carlo Pellegatti, a journalist, made the following comments on his YouTube channel, issuing some advice to Gerry Cardinale:

We’re talking about one of the most important executives of the last 20 years, who has worked with Moratti, Marotta, Sabatini... a profile of the highest Italian and international calibre."
"At this moment, he is practically a free agent on the market, and Cardinale must have the insight to bring in a sporting director who (and I say this reluctantly) over the last four years has won two league titles and reached two Champions League finals. It may not have all been down to him, of course, but alongside Marotta and whoever else you want to name, he managed, despite having an American investment fund behind him, to build a team every year with players who fit the system, without needing to spend €200 million on Mbappé or Haaland, while also knowing how to replace those who left. That is precisely what we have been missing. I would really like to understand, dear Mr Cardinale, what could possibly stand in the way of bringing in a profile like this."
