Milan head coach Ruben Amorim spoke to DAZN ahead of this evening’s big match between Juventus and Milan, which will be played at the Allianz Stadium in Turin. Below are his full comments.
On his tactical ideas:
"We want to play in the same way, but a great team understands that sometimes you have the ball and sometimes you have to defend. Especially in these types of matches, you have to be able to play both with and without the ball. So the idea is the same, but we’ll see."
On Diego Moreira’s debut, Amorim said:
"He’s ready. He’s a really brave player. He’s had a very good week, and when you train well and prepare well, you play well. I know it’s his first match, but he’s really confident and ready for the game."
On the dream of winning the Scudetto, Amorim had this to say:
"It’s difficult to say. We have two months of work behind us, and I don’t know exactly where we are at this point. What I do know is that we can win any match. Whether we will be able to challenge for the title this season, I don’t know; it depends on the moment. But we have the players to do it. We also have to understand that we need time to work. There are teams that have been working with the same players for a long time and have had better seasons than ours. We are building something, but I don’t want to take responsibility away from my players. We just have to understand the reality, while approaching every match with the awareness that we have to fight to win."
