The mural dedicated to Franco Baresi is about to return. Luca Rosada, the artist known as Lucas Street Art, announced on social media that on Saturday he will restore the image, which was vandalized two Sundays ago in front of AC Milan’s headquarters.
Rosada has decided to take the initiative personally: he will create a new paste-up dedicated to the Rossoneri captain, replacing the one that was damaged.
What is a paste-up? It is a street-art technique in which an image, a drawing, a photograph or an illustration is printed on paper and then pasted directly onto a wall, rather than being painted directly onto the surface. It is made using recycled paper which, Rosada points out, does not damage the wall.
The new work will be different from the previous one: it will be larger, made up of several sheets, and will depict a smiling Baresi wearing the Rossoneri colours. Rosada will be in front of Casa Milan on Saturday morning at around 9:30 a.m. for work that is expected to take approximately a couple of hour, as per 'La Gazetta dello Sport" today.
"This act of vandalism against the artwork breaks my heart because it has defaced the person, the image, Franco Baresi," Rosada said when the work was damaged.
