As previously reported already, Gerry Cardinale’s search for a new Sporting Director at Milan continues.
Well-known journalist Matteo Moretto has put forward a new - perhaps unlikely - candidate, naming Medhi Benatia, who is currently a free agent after leaving Olympique Marseille.
The young executive could be involved in Milan’s upcoming talks. Benatia would be happy to work in Italy, where he spent many years as a player, and has reportedly made himself available to the Rossoneri.

Moretto had this to say via Fabrizio Romano's YouTube channel:
"Milan are continuing to assess how to improve the organisation of the club on the sporting side. Cardinale is leading this search, everything is in his hands, and he is evaluating which profile would be the right fit to add to an already well-established structure. As of today, there is still no leading candidate, with new meetings and contacts expected in the coming weeks. I want to shed some light on the profile of Medhi Benatia, the former defender and former sporting director of Marseille, who would be happy to return to work in Italy, a country he knows very well. Benatia has made it clear that he would be very open to Milan if a call were to come from the Rossoneri club. Milan are continuing with this casting process, and we will see what happens.”
