Fabio Capello commented on the return of Serie A, which resumes today with the opening fixtures, in today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport. Milan will face Sassuolo tomorrow at 18:00 at the Mapei Stadium. Here is his assessment:
“I’d like to know whether Milan coach Amorim has really found the right formula or only a ‘half-formula’. In their last match before the international break, the coach finally fielded a team with a little more experience, and it worked well. We’ll see how they get on against Sassuolo tomorrow.”
Advice for coaches
“With one caveat: even though the big clubs are entering a relentless run of fixtures, they should not be making calculations about squad rotation or resting players. Coaches will speak to their players to assess whether those who have played the most minutes for their national teams need a rest and how best to make use of the entire squad. But ultimately, they will look to field their strongest team straight away and get back to winning ways.”
