It is no secret that Gerry Cardinale is personally working to bring a new transfer chief into AC Milan’s management structure, someone who can begin preparing for the January transfer window. According to this morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport, the Milan owner is conducting a genuine recruitment process to identify the new executive, who would work closely with Ruben Amorim.
The Rome-based newspaper reports:
“Among the executives interviewed was Mehdi Benatia, the former sporting director of Marseille. The meeting took place in recent days, and Benatia is on Milan’s list of potential candidates for the role, alongside Boto of Flamengo and Tiago Pinto, who is currently at Bournemouth. The two Portuguese executives could be favoured by the club, partly because they know Ruben Amorim very well.”
