The 27-year-old French midfielder of Sevilla, on loan from AC Milan, granted an interview to those at 'El Pais' in which he spoke about his move to La Liga from Serie A:
"Everything happened very quickly. I didn’t have time to think, but there was one important thing: Sevilla really wanted me. I didn’t want to keep waiting at Milan because I knew I wouldn’t play. I go where I’m wanted and where they have confidence in me."
On leaving AC Milan, Youssouf Fofana said:
"Ruben Amorim and the club’s directors decided that I was not part of their project... I have no problems with Milan or with Amorim."
