On the eve of AC Milan - Ferencvaros Europa League match, Koni De Winter has spoken to the media in a press conference, with Ruben Amorim.
Here are the Belgian defender's words:
This year you have become a starter for Milan and now you have also become a father...
"Becoming a father is a wonderful thing. On the pitch, compared to last year, I feel more important and I feel more confidence. I think it is a good moment, but there is still a long way to go."
So far, you have played practically every game. Did you expect that?
"I feel good. When there are many matches, you train by playing. For me, it is better this way. So I am happy with it, and I have to make sure I am ready."
You are playing almost all the time alongside Pavlovic. How do you get on with the Serbian?
"I feel good with all my team-mates; we know each other well. I like playing with Pavlovic. He is strong, and we understand each other very well."
How difficult will it be to keep a clean sheet tomorrow?
"They (Ferencvaros) are a good team, they are having a good Europa League campaign and have great confidence, but we will give our best to prevent them from scoring."
Milan have had many great defenders. Do you have any role models?
"I have several. If I have to name one who played for Milan, I would say Thiago Silva, whom I followed a lot and who is very strong. If I have to name someone, it would be him."
What do you think of Sankhoun Diawara's growth? De Winter said:
"As the coach says, he's someone who works hard and always gives his all. Everyone loves him. When you work hard, your chance comes, and he grabbed it with both hands. We're all happy for him."
