Given the lengthy absences of Samuel Chukwueze and Alexis Saelemaekers, as well as the switch to a back four, Milan are considering bringing Zachary Athekame back six months early. The Swiss defender was loaned out to Lyon on a straight loan deal in the summer, as relayed via Milan News.
He has performed very well so far at the French club, which has, however, just changed its manager (Paulo Fonseca asked to leave in order to join Sporting Lisbon), and this new development could therefore have an impact on his future. To terminate the loan, however, the Rossoneri would potentially have to reach a financial agreement with Lyon.
