Croatia international and AC Milan attacker, Ante Rebic, is now preparing with his national team for the Euros. The first game will be against England on June 13.
The 27 year-old player believes that his teammate at the San Siro Fikayo Tomori deserved a call-up in Gareth Southgate's squad for the European competition.
Tomori, 23, comes off from a very impressive loan spell at Milan, he provides physicality and speed in the centre-back position. The player even managed to score a beautiful header in a crucial away win against Juventus.
Ante Rebic, speaking to the media, revealed that he was "surprised" not to see the Englishman called up:
"Honestly, I am a bit surprised because from their choice of centre halves, they all seem to have the same characteristics."
"Fik is aggressive and fast. We talked and he said that he didn't believe he was going to be called up. So I'm a bit surprised."
AC Milan managers are reportedly very keen and eager to keep Fikayo Tomori permanently and talks are ongoing with Chelsea to make the deal happen soon, as per various reports.
