AC Milan announced a partnership some time ago with Dubai Expo 2020 in order to improve its image and portfolio even outside the football pitch.
This partnership, however, is proving to be now on the awkward side as European Union Parliament is urging companies and partners to withdraw themselves from this event, as relayed by Milanpress.it.
The EU announced the following resolution:
"In order to signal their disapproval of the human rights violations in the UAE, [the European Parliament] invites the international companies sponsoring Expo 2020 Dubai to withdraw their sponsorship and encourages member states not to participate in the event."
This disapproval is a sign of protest about the human rights violated in the UAE.
AC Milan, therefore, is now in a difficult spot, along with other partners who have their brands and names as part of the events. Now, we wait for updates in the coming days or weeks.
