Antonio Mirante, after the signing of the contract that will bind him to the Rossoneri colours until the end of the season, granted an interview to Milan TV. Here are the words of the former AS Roma goalkeeper:
"My feelings are obviously positive, especially with the way this call came. This gives me a further boost, also because I have the awareness and the age not to panic about the situation, since it came suddenly."
On the talks before signing with Milan:
"The negotiation was a lightning bolt. The call came yesterday afternoon, after Mike's injury to which I wish him a big good luck, we look forward to seeing him soon. Negotiation, if you can call it that, was really immediate and I accepted immediately, because it is something that could not even be discussed."
What can Antonio Mirante bring to the team?
"At my age, it is right that you also bring human qualities into the locker room, which from the outside seems to be already at a high level. It is a team that gives the impression of having great enthusiasm, great drive, of always being positive. This for me is a great value."
On Pioli and his team:
"I have never worked together with the coach, we have always faced each other. He arrived at Milan at the best moment, which allowed both Milan and the coach to grow exponentially. I believe this relationship will last a long time. The thing that stands out in watching AC Milan matches for a year now, is that it is a team that always gives the idea of what it is doing, always goes strong and always gives the perception of knowing what there should be on the pitch. It is well placed and has a very specific identity, which sometimes also changes. Right now, this team can give everyone a hard time."
On having to work with Dida:
"He was, I'm not just saying it, but everyone does, an exceptional goalkeeper. As a trainer I don't know him, but at my age, already in the experience before Roma, I understood that you can always improve. I arrive at the field aware of the fact that every day I put a brick on my experience and my qualities. I believe that Dida can still give me so much, can lead me to polish my defects, because I too have to polish them at my age. I can't think of being satisfied. I will work a lot with him on what he deems appropriate to make me improve."
On former teammate Alessandro Florenzi:
"He texted me, we talked to say hi. We will meet tomorrow at Milanello. I already met Romagnoli when we were in the national team of Italy.
