It's a tricky time for the Rossoneri management as they prepare to make important decisions that should affect Stefano Pioli's team. In this sense, the club directors want to lock down important players with renewals so Pioli can still rely on them for the next years.
Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara do not just think about purchases as they are planning a way to start extension talks for different players at the club.
As per Corriere dello Sport, the will of the AC Milan club is to confirm the stay of Theo Hernandez, Rafael Leao and Ismael Bennacer. The three players have their respective contracts expiring in June 2024. But, the Rossoneri officials are working hard to convince them to extend until 2026.
The mentioned young stars currently earn around 1.4 / 1.5 million euros per season. However, with the hypothetical renewals, they would be earning up to 3.5 / 4 million per season for five years which would lead to a total gross investment of almost 100 million euros gross. Elliott management as well as Maldini and Massara are working mainly on bonuses. Making these operations would send a message to Pioli that they support him and want to keep his key pillars.
