La Repubblica shared the words of Alessandro Costacurta which he entrusted to them in an interview. The former AC Milan player had much to say on different topics, including Italian football:
"We need to convince Mancini as they did with Mattarella in politics, I don't see valid alternatives. Not even Cannavaro or Pirlo, the new Guardiola does not exist. We must start again from the Primavera championship. Have you seen any games recently? I do. And I discovered that young people no longer run, do not cross and do not dribble. Nobody teaches that. Instead of occupying the opponent's area, they turn wide. Roberto seemed unresponsive to me the other night."
Costacurta added:
"Around minute 60 (against North Macedonia), 'I thought: why didn't he put Tonali on immediately? He failed to surprise, this time he didn't pull the rabbit out of the hat. The fact remains that I love him and would like him to stay."
