Lazio continue their hunt for the central defender in view of next season. Maurizio Sarri asked his club management for a reinforcement in the defensive area and the work is ongoing to secure the signing of AC Milan's Alessio Romagnoli. The Rossonero number 13 and captain seems to be their first option as his contract expires soon.

According to what is reported by Tuttmercatoweb.com, Lazio are not in an ideal position to sign the centre-back of Milan, just yet. In fact, they are struggling to offload 34-year-old Italian defender Francesco Acerbi and that deal is blocking the arrival of the former AS Roma defender.
As for the personal terms, there is a gap valued at half a million euros between offer and demand. But, Lazio's chief Claudio Lotito is convinced he can close this negotiation successfully. Once Acerbi leaves, a deal can finally be done. Alessio Romagnoli was asked by the club president to wait a little longer to sort everything out. However, it remains to be seen for how long will the player be patient.
