It is Coppa Italia time this weekend and the AC Milan Women's team wants to make it to the finals for the first time in the history of the tournament and, to do that, the rossonere must beat Sassuolo in the quarterfinals, a two-legged tie, to advance further in the competition.

Although the goal this season is to qualify for the champions league through the Serie A, an empty trophy room at Milan Femminile’s headquarters certainly is a bit of concern, as this team is performing very well in the league. It might be a perfect time to address some attention to the other national competition.

The probable formations

Maurizio Ganz is set to make a few changes in the starting eleven regarding the last league game against Florentia, according to Luca Maninetti, from Milannews24.com. Therefore, the probable formations are:

AC MILAN (3-5-2): Korenciova; Fusetti, Agard, Vitale; Bergamaschi, Conc, Rask, Vero, Grimshaw; Giacinti, Dowie.

SASSUOLO (4-3-1-2): Lemey; Santoro, Orsi, Filangeri, Philtjens; Mihashi, Lenzini Dubcova; Bugeja; Cambiaghi, Tomaselli

Background

So far, including Serie A and Coppa Italia, Milan and Sassuolo have played 6 times, with 5 wins for the Milan side and a draw. Milan scored 14 goals on those games and conceded only 4, making the neroverde the third favorite victim of the diavolesse’s attack, only behind Pink Bari (23) and Internazionale (18).

Milan and Sassuolo have already faced each other at this same stage of Coppa Italia in the 2018/2019 season, when the rossonere won the two legs, both with a 2-nil score.

When and where to watch

The game will take place on Sunday, 31 at 2:30pm CET at the Stadio Ricci. Sky Sport will broadcast it on TV in Italy and Sassuolo will livestream it on their official site.
