Rumours have been circulating for some time and now it is official. In today's FIGC council, a new rule is approved and will be applied starting from the next season.
In the event of an equal finish to the Serie A league between two teams, without looking at the goal difference or head to head results, the Scudetto will only be awarded through a play-off match which, in the event of a tie in the 90 minutes, will directly go to penalty shoot-outs, without any extra time.
