AC Milan continue to evaluate their options in the mercato window. They have the need to reinforce the attacking midfield, central midfield area and the defensive department for head coach Stefano Pioli. The priority always remains for the playmaker role as Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara still push for Charles De Ketelaere.
According to the latest news reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the club management also thinks of the midfield and has some profiles in the shortlist. For the central midfield position, Renato Sanches is still the number one goal. But, watch out for the name of Carney Chukwuemeka from the Premier League outfit Aston Villa.
Chukwuemeka, 18, has a contract expiring in June 2023 and is highly appreciated by the Serie A champions. According to the newspaper mentioned above, AC Milan have taken a significant step towards the player and they have obtained the midfielder's approval.
Competition, however, is not lacking. The English talent is also liked by FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. The valuation is around 20 million euros , but given the contract expiry being due in June 2023, there is confidence to be able to sign him at lower figures.
