AC Milan have lost the services of Alessio Romagnoli as his contract expired and no agreement for the renewal has been found. The then-Rossoneri captain went on to agree a deal with Serie A side Lazio.
The champions of Italy are now looking for a central defender to replace the former captain and it seems that Japhet Tanganga is at the top of the shortlist when it comes to defensive targets in the mercato. The 23-year-old Englishman is appreciated by Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara and he seems to be excluded from the technical plans and vision of Antonio Conte.

According to what is reported by Italy-based news website Calciomercato.com, AC Milan managers Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara have already talked about a possible transfer of the player to the San Siro with sport director of Tottenham Fabio Paratici.
For now, however, the priority for the red and black side of Milan is Club Brugge's Charles De Ketelaere. Once that is concluded, the management will assess the situation and what should be done later. For Tanganga, it seems that the preferred idea is to sign him on a paid loan with an option to buy.
The English defender is waiting with confidence as he wants AC Milan at all costs. He has already rejected several proposals from the Premier League because in his mind there is only the champions club of Italy.
