AC Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara would like to reinforce the defensive area by signing an affordable central defender after the exit of Alessio Romagnoli, who chose to join Lazio on a free transfer.

According to Tuttosport, the search for a centre-back is still ongoing but it is difficult. In fact, the two main names on the agenda of the Rossoneri directors are Japhet Tanganga from Tottenham and Abdou Diallo from Paris Saint-Germain.
As per the Italian newspaper in today's edition, the negotiations are not progressing positively as AC Milan would like to sign one of these players on loan with the option to buy. Both of Tottenham and PSG, however, are pushing only for the obligation to buy.
