AC Milan defender, Fikayo Tomori, has released an interview to the microphones of GQ Italia and discussed the Scudetto victory and celebrations in Milano:

"At the beginning of last season few thought we were capable of winning, but from the day I arrived we were aware that we had an excellent strong team. I think last year's championship was deserved, we have built something important. The bus tour around the city was incredible, we had fans in every corner: it was the best moment of my career. Now we want to repeat ourselves. Those who follow football know that Milan are a top club with an important history , known all over the world. Maldini wanted me, as a defender he was a factor that made me happy. With Kjaer's injury I understood that the time had come for a next step, to have continuity to become a leader."

On contributing to clean sheets, Fikayo Tomori said this:

"I am always happy when we do not concede goals, also because we know that our chances of winning increase: with great strikers like Leao and Giroud up there, sooner or later we will manage to score."

On racism:

"It's an education problem, sometimes people who say stupid things are ignored, but there always comes a time when you have to fight for our people. I know I have a responsibility, I know I can be an example and inspire boys and girls. It is difficult to say what football can do to combat racism, because it is something that goes beyond sport, it is up to the government, to those who make the rules. But football remains a big business and enjoys an important audience to send messages to: campaigns like Keep Racism Out (promoted by Lega Serie A) are the right initiatives, it is a path that we must continue to follow."

On the San Siro stadium, Tomori said:

"When I arrived in Italy, the stadiums were empty because of the pandemic. I had never been to San Siro before, so when I saw it full for the first time it was fantastic. I immediately felt at ease. I remember the first Champions League game at home, against Atlético: even if we didn't win, the atmosphere was incredible."

"Here, compared to England where people arrive at the last minute, you see the stadium full already when you enter the pitch for the warm-up. And then, the last league match against Atalanta: my friends were in the stands, and every time they show me the photos of that day", concluded Tomori.
