AC Milan and the hunt for the right profile in defence: it is still ongoing. The Rossoneri managers Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara want to add someone in the defensive department. The club directors are aware that the team is 'thin' in the backline after the exit of Alessio Romagnoli as a free agent to fellow Serie A club SS Lazio.
According to the latest news, the Italian champions are trying to sign Japhet Tanganga of Tottenham, but a deal is difficult due to the demand of the Premier League club asking to insert a buy obligation while the Rossoneri are only willing to include a buy-option in the loan deal.
As per today's edition of Il Corriere della Sera, Tanganga remains the number one goal for AC Milan. But, another factor that can make the deal more complicated is that Nottingham Forest are now also interested in the 23-year-old English central defender. For now, however, the player has refused the approach of the newly-promoted English club as he waits for AC Milan still.
