AC Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali did not participate with the national team of Italy in their games. The former Brescia star suffered some physical injuries and is currently trying to get back to the best condition in order to be available once again for head coach Stefano Pioli and help his team.
As per Il Corriere dello Sport, the Rossoneri gaffer could choose to deploy central midfielder Tommaso Pobega in the starting lineup against Empoli in the next weekend. The reason behind such a decision would be that Pioli would not want to rush Sandro Tonali.
Instead, Pioli wants Tonali to continue his preparations and therapies and be ready for the Champions League clash that would see AC Milan take on Premier League side Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge on Wednesday October 5.
