Today's edition of Il Corriere dello Sport shed some light on the situation of Rafael Leao with AC Milan. The Portuguese star whose contract expires in June 2024 has helped the Rossoneri climb their way through to the round of 16 in the Champions League. With this qualification, the club managed to gain an amount of money close to 60 million euros.
According to the Italian newspaper, the Rossoneri's goal with this money is to keep Rafael Leao in the club. Paolo Maldini will try to convince him of signing on a new deal. In his current deal, the net salary is set at 1.5 million euros.
Rafael Leao, for his part, is asking for a net salary of 7 million euros. But, he would also like for AC Milan to contribute to paying the fee owed to Sporting Lisbon (close to 20 million euros). We will have to see soon if there will be any other updates.
