There is a long break now. The AC Milan club will not play any more official games until January 2023, that is after the end of the World Cup competition and after the Christmas holidays. The Rossoneri directors, meanwhile, have time to think about different pressing matters and issues, perhaps such as opportunities in the transfer market window.

As reported by those at Calciomercato.com, Paolo Maldini's strategy in the market remains the same. There will not be purchases for the sake of just purchasing players. “It is useless to buy a lot to buy, we might as well trust the players who are in the squad”. This same philosophy, clearly expressed in January 2022, was what led Maldini to give confidence to Pierre Kalulu who became the starter as a central defender.

No big moves are expected from the defending Serie A champions. There are many players yet to discover in the second half of the season such as the new summer signings: Charles De Ketelaere, Sergino Dest, Malick Thiaw, Yacine Adli and Aster Vranckx as well as Divock Origi. Then, Marko Lazetic could also have a chance to prove his worth.

Besides that, there are quite a few players who are out due to injuries and they are Alexis Saelemaekers, Alessandro Florenzi, Davide Calabria, Mike Maignan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Between the players who are yet to prove themselves and the ones who will return from injury after the break, Stefano Pioli will practically have a new team at his disposal.

For this reason, for Paolo Maldini it is useless to hypothesise large and / or numerous market movements in this very long stop of the championship, concludes Calciomercato.com.
