Emmanuel Petit, former world and European champion with France in 1998 and 2000, granted an interview to Mega Casino. He had high praise to his fellow countryman and AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud:
"Can you imagine if Giroud had the qualities of Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo? I think he has the same mentality as Ronaldo: Giroud has such a strong mentality that he is almost a robot, because he has so much conviction and determination. You have to show respect for Giroud."
