Lecce's 20-year-old Italian centre-forward Lorenzo Colombo who is on loan from AC Milan (with an option to buy and a buy-back clause in favour of the Rossoneri), spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport. Here are some of his statements:

"The right foot? I'm getting better. I'm gaining confidence. Fabrizio Del Rosso, the assistant coach, is making me work a lot on technique, sensitivity, right-footed shot, ball defense... I owe a lot to him. He is an excellent teacher. More can be done but I am improving, slowly."

You scored 3 goals in the last 4 games and made 1 assist and you've been a starter in these games...

"A coincidence? You tell me, I only play football, I do what I have to do, I try to improve, put the best of me on the field. For now, these are the results. In Europe only Musiala and Moukoko with at least 4 goals and 2 assists? You don't have to look at these numbers, it's still too early. Let's talk about it at the end of the season."

Colombo on his next goal:

"To confirm myself. Last year, I got off to a strong start then got stuck, now I want to continue doing so well learning from past mistakes. Over the years, establish myself as one of the best Italian players. Would a striker be useful for Milan? I'm more comfortable at Lecce at the moment."

Colombo on the racist chants of the Lazio fans towards Samuel Umtiti and Lameck Banda:

"I'm honest, I didn't realize what was happening from the pitch. Those choirs are something that must be condemned and should no longer exist. However, the reaction of the Salento fans was splendid, they helped Umtiti and all of us, they charged us. We are all on the side of Samuel and Lameck and anyone who is discriminated against. A reaction like this (against racism) is only good for football and it's what should always happen."
