AC Milan directors are working hard to keep Rafael Leao at the San Siro beyond the deadline on his current contract. The Portuguese player has sent positive signs quite a few times to the management and fans as he continues to show affection to the Rossoneri world and the directors are now more optimistic as they get closer to the 'white smoke'.
According to what is reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport in this morning's print edition, the new offer of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara should be around 7.5 to 7.7 million euros net per season including bonuses (the fixed part would be around 6.5 million euros while the rest would be bonuses).
It seemed there could be a physical meeting taking place at Casa Milan with Ted Dimvula, the player's lawyer, however, it didn't not happen just yet. Perhaps that it could be postponed until after Wednesday's Supercoppa Italiana. The contacts are constant and continuous, the hope is to close the deal by the end of the month.
Milan have produced the maximum possible effort, Leao wants to renew and knows that the issue with Sporting Lisbon will have to be handled privately. It remains to be understood when the contract duration and commissions as well as buy-out clause will be resolved. In other Milan news, this young centre-forward from Serie A is linked with a move to AC Milan in view of the summer.
