AC Milan play tomorrow the derby, a fixture that is worth a trophy. No better shot at redemption than by winning a trophy to give a nice boost to the fans who suffered through negative recent performances. After the game in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, the focus will be once again on the contract renewal of the Portuguese left-winger Rafael Leao.
According to sources at Calciomercato.com, AC Milan have scheduled a meeting for ths Fiday with French lawyer Ted Dimvula who represents the former Lille talent Rafael Leao. There is confidence from Paolo Maldini and his colleague Frederic Massara to reach an agreement for the renewal.
The intention now is to strike a deal with the player's camp before the end of January. Leao, for his part, would like to stay at the San Siro. Milan recognise his talent and growth as they are ready to reward him with a net salary per season that is 7 million euros including bonuses. However, some fundamental details must be resolved before signing on the paperwork.
The first obstacle to overcome is the issue regarding Jorge Mendes and Ted Dimvula and the commission fees which should be paid to the representatives of the player. The second hurdle is the release clause. Currently, Milan have 150 million euros buy-out clause inserted in Leao's contract and they would like to make it even higher in the new deal. This is why the meeting with the lawyer Dimvula on Friday at Milan's home will be decisive.
