AC Milan's head coach, Stefano Pioli, spoke to the microphones of SportMediaset after the heavy blow against Inter which saw the Nerazzurri win 3-0. Here are the gaffer's words:
"We didn't have a first half worthy of a game like this. We tried to reopen it with a good start to the second half, and then we did too little."
He added:
"We're not used to making these mistakes, then if you make them against these opponents... We're not having our best moment mentally. We must do more and do better."
How does the team restart from this point?
"By the only way we know how: by working better to raise our bar. It's a defeat that hurts us a lot, but the season is there that awaits us and we have to find each other."
Pioli on how he feels about the decline of the team:
"I didn't expect it. I know my players and I always expect positive performances. Right now, we struggle to react to a mistake, we struggle to remain a team and react only individually. The last few results have weighed on us."
On Theo Hernandez:
"I wouldn't talk about attitude. In these games, the focus is there. It's not fair to point the finger at individuals. We need to regain that lightness of mind that will allow us to play the soccer we know."

Are you more worried about the attack or defence?
"There are so many situations where we need to do better. It is the collective that needs to improve. Improving the performance of individuals. I know it is a hard blow, but we will have the strength to react."
How much do you miss Mike Maignan?
"The opponents were very aggressive, we needed more precise movements without the ball. Mike has a little longer kick, but we needed to do better on other movements."
