According to the daily Italian newspaper La Gazzetta Dello Sport, it seems that the experienced French forward of AC Milan, Olivier Giroud, is set to renew his contract and stay at Milan for another season. The offer sent by the Rossoneri club has been improved: from 3.2 million euros to 3.7 million euros, plus bonuses. However, it seems that a new meeting will be needed between the parties before the deal can be all done.
While Giroud's renewal seems very doable, there is another player whose future is less certain. We are talking about the left-winger Rafael Leao. In fact, AC Milan, for their part, aim to protect their investment. But, the former Lille talent is still without a new contract. The young star can therefore be free to negotiate with other clubs in less than a year. This is a situation that the Rossoneri managers hope to avoid.
AC Milan have already tabled a generous contract for Leao, worth over 6 million euros per year until 2027. However, the player has yet to commit, leaving the club in a precarious position. As the stalemate situation continues, it seems increasingly likely that the Rossoneri management will need to start at least thinking of a potential sale in June.
