With the summer transfer window just over three months away, rumours and hypotheses are already swirling around the potential moves which AC Milan could make. While these scenarios are still evolving, it's worth discussing the dynamics that are taking shape.
The prospect of signing either Arsenal's loanee Folarin Balogun or Jonathan David would be a considerable challenge, especially given their impressive scoring record. Both are projected to reach 20 goals in Ligue 1 and are valued at around 40-50 million euros, with Premier League clubs already showing interest. Meanwhile, securing Hojlund's signature is also expected to be complicated.
However, with around 70 million euros set to be added to Milan's coffers through Champions League revenues alone, the Rossoneri have the financial muscle to make significant moves in the transfer market. The 70 million euros will not all be used in the market, but a large part of it would be (maybe around 60 million euros, writes Calciostyle.it). A top priority is a midfielder who can serve as a backup for Ismael Bennacer, with Lucas Torreira of Galatasaray being considered at a valuation of around 15 million euros.
Two more potential signings could also come from the same Turkish club, Galatasaray. Paolo Maldini had promised to "return to the subject" of Nicolò Zaniolo in the summer, while a safe option for the attack, if Balogun and David prove elusive, is Mauro Icardi.
60 million euros is undoubtedly a significant sum, acquiring three profiles in midfield and attack could cement Milan's future. Of course, there may be additional reinforcements here and there, but the core of the squad could be built in this way. And as Calciostyle.it points out, further sales could add even more funds to the Rossoneri's coffers.
