Massimo Ambrosini, talking to Prime Video, commented on the match between AC Milan and Napoli at the San Siro last night. The way the former AC Milan midfielder narrated the match did not sit well with Napoli fans, and several criticisms were directed towards him on social media, especially regarding his criticism of Lozano, whom he accused of simulation.

Ambrosini gave an interview to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, saying,

"Thanks to all those who have expressed their condolences for the death of my mother. During the broadcast, I repeatedly said that Napoli made an excellent impression, especially in the beginning. Then they struggled throughout the game. I also said during the broadcast that the worst news for Napoli was not the defeat, but the absences they will have in the return match (Anguissa and Kim). Napoli responded with great personality by not allowing Milan to dominate in the first half of the game. There are several positive takeaways for Napoli."

Ambrosini added:

"Kovacs? The referee's standard changed radically between the first and second half. Leao's yellow card was deserved, as was Krunic's. Anguissa's second foul was also worthy of a yellow card. Kim was naive in the way he got booked..."

Ambrosini continued:

"Napoli fans angry with me over the phrase 'Lozano often simulates'? I'm sorry, I have always had great respect for Napoli and the Neapolitans. I understand the passion with which Neapolitans follow football. People have always told me that as a footballer, I accentuated certain tackles, so I couldn't, of all people, accuse Lozano of being a simulator. Perhaps my words were misunderstood, and I'm sorry if anyone was offended. I did not intend to accuse Lozano. I may have said that he could have tried to exaggerate a tackle, which is different. I was the first one who took penalties by exaggerating and doing worse than Lozano. I apologize and I am sorry."
