For months now we have been talking about the renewals of Calhanoglu and Donnarumma, two fundamental elements in Pioli's team.
Tuttosport writes in their analysis "Donnarumma and Calhanoglu, renewal or collapse". The rumors of the 10 million euros requested by Raiola for Gigio's contract are almost true, but the Italian-Dutch agent knows well that in the period of Covid no one will ever be able to offer him all that money.
Calhanoglu had asked for 7 million euros, now down to 5 million, against the 4 million proposed by Milan while Gigio was offered 7.5 more bonuses for 5 years. Important numbers, which however do not convince the entourage but with a paradox: the two players have repeatedly expressed their desire to continue their adventure with Milan.
The club now has to make a choice on how to invest their money. The first road, which is the primary one, is to find an agreement to keep the two players at sustainable economic conditions and to give Milan back the power over the cards. But it is clear that, to do so, efforts will be needed that could be calmed by the entry of fresh money in case of qualification for the next edition of the Champions League.
The scenario is plausible and viable as well as being the one prefigured by the Milanese environment. Also because, in the event that Donnarumma and Calhanoglu do not have to renew, Milan would find themselves with more problems to deal with.
The first is of a purely technical nature, since finding substitutes on the market that are up to these two players is not an easy task. Inevitably, with two such important roles uncovered, the profiles that Milan would deal with could cost a lot. Also, not even the excellent scouting area could propose profiles that, at least initially, do not lower the level of the squad.
