AC Milan's transfer market operations which were made in the previous summer did not yield satisfactory results on the field. But, the only successful signing was Malick Thiaw who was signed from Schalke 04 for around 8.5 million euros. As pointed out by Tuttosport this morning, Thiaw also found little playing time at the beginning, but then in January, especially after the temporary switch to a three-man defence, he began to enter Stefano Pioli's rotations until becoming a starter in this final stretch of the season.
The German centre-back effectively took Pierre Kalulu's place first and then also Simon Kjaer's, so much so that in the last few matches, he has always been paired with Fikayo Tomori at the center of the Rossoneri's defence.
AC Milan, in 2023-2024, will therefore also rely on Thiaw in defence, as he has become a key figure in Pioli's team. The growth of the German has been evident, leading to an increase in his market value.
Today, in fact, German defender Malick Thiaw is worth no less than 20-22 million euros, also because we must never forget that we are talking about a player at the tender age of 21: he still has great room for improvement.
