After signing Tijjani Reijnders, AC Milan are now focusing on other targets as they aim to reinforce Stefano Pioli's team. In fact, they want to sign another midfielder, a winger, and a striker who can alternate with Olivier Giroud.
As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 24-year-old Nigerian right-winger, Samuel Chukwueze, is a top target for the club. The reason behind this resurgence of interest is simple: the Spanish club, which had been reluctant to sell the player so far, has finally shown signs of openness and might be willing to lower their asking price. If this turns out to be true, it is believed that in the upcoming days of negotiations (perhaps even in the next few hours), Milan and Villarreal can work to bridge the gap between the demand and offer, which now seems less insurmountable.
AC Milan now have intensified contacts for the pursuit of Chukwueze, which means that the trail for Mehdi Taremi is cooling down now. Only one of the two players can be signed due to Serie A's rule on non-European players.
If the Villarreal winger is signed, then the Rossoneri management will have to focus on a striker with a European passport. The list of available options in this category is not very long, and West Ham's Gianluca Scamacca remains an option. Other targets are Noah Okafor from RB Salzburg and the 24-year-old Greek striker of AZ Alkmaar Vangelis Pavlidis, however, this has yet to be confirmed.
